The Lineup: We tested 14 brands of plant-based milk, covering nut milks (almond, cashew, macadamia) and others (coconut, rice). These were sourced from major grocery stores and health food shops (Healthy Options).
Why We’re Doing This: Plant-based milk has stepped out of the niche and into the mainstream—and grocery shelves now carry milks made from nuts, coconuts, even rice. The options are endless, and so is the price range. Whether you're dairy-free by necessity or by choice, figuring out which brands are actually worth your money is harder than it looks. So we did what we do best: tasted as many as we could, so you don't have to.
How We Tasted: Each brand was tasted as is, shaken and poured out of the box at room temperature.
Blind Taste Test: All brands were removed from their packaging, labeled, and tasted blind to prevent brand bias.
How We Scored: Each product was evaluated across 2 criteria. Final placements reflect the Pepper team’s averaged impressions.
Transparency: No brand paid for inclusion in this taste test.
