I have always had the highest regard and appreciation for Japanese cuisine because of its standard in quality and the meticulosity spent in the preparation of its dishes. Every meal at a Japanese restaurant is like a carefully laid out work of art.
Such is the case at Ogawa Traditional Japanese Restaurant along the Fort Strip Taguig, with no less than Chef Kiyosaki Ogawa, the restaurant’s namesake, at its helm.
The facade of the restaurant alone is enough to transport you to Japanese olden times. The arc and the sliding door entrance is a nice touch to the traditional authentic feel. From the fields, to the sea, Ogawa has something to offer every sophisticated palate that graces its doors. The smells of fresh and flavorful meat will fill your nostrils as the sight of the teppanyaki kitchen will greet you as you enter.
The sushi bar located adjacent to the teppanyaki kitchen houses some of the freshest produce from the seas as its seafood is flown in from Japan at least twice a week. On its opposite side is the Japanese liquor section for customers who would want to down their food with quality spirits.
The food is also representative of what my impression the restaurant is, classic and well-put. Japanese favorites such as the teppanyaki and sashimi are enough to make you remember the night even more, every mouthful adding to the experience as you go with your meal. All wandering souls looking for authentic Japanese fare will be more than satisfied with what the restaurant has to offer.
