Everybody loves Filipino fruit salad. But let’s be real, it’s not the healthiest of fruity desserts, what with overdose of cream and condensed milk; not to mention the fact that most fruit salad recipes call for fruit cocktail, instead of fresh fruits. Some might argue that if you want a guilt-free serving of fruits for dessert, then you might as well just eat plain fresh fruits. But where’s the fun in that?
So we’ve come up with a safe middle ground. This fresh fruit platter recipe comes with a few little extra things to spice it up. Just imagine Mexican fruit salad fused with the creamy part of our local fruit salad, except it uses Greek yogurt and whipped cream, instead. We have a sugar/chili powder seasoning to bring out the flavors of the fruit, and to give it a little bit of a spicy kick. That’s complemented with a bright, refreshing lime yogurt sauce that we’d honestly dip everything in.
