When talking about Filipino cuisine, Mark Tating and Sam Beltran realized that people’s understanding of food was often limited to their geography. So they opened Tiyo Craft Kitchen & Bar, hoping to broaden people’s palates through a menu that included specialties from different regions across the country.
Tiyo puts a modern twist on each plate by decorating it meticulously. Each detail—up to that last leaf—is considered. It sounds intimidating, but the warm ambiance of the restaurant (and the fact that it is, still, Filipino food you recognize) offsets the unfamiliar, and makes you feel right at home.
