The Famous Sisig on Rada St. in Legazpi Village is Worth the Long Lines

September 11, 2018

It’s rare for a Jolly Jeep to gain as much fame and traction as the one along Rada Street in Legazpi Village, that’s been hailed by locals as well as websites as one of the best sisig deals in town. At only PHP50 for a serving (or PHP62 if you get it with rice), you can’t complain either way. But your peso goes a long way at the this Metrostall Jolly Jeep in terms of flavor.

Order 2 if you’re really hungry!

The sisig is the crunchy and well-fried sort, so much so that its meat (the parts that are not the crunchy cartilage) resembles adobo flakes. The egg is already tossed into the mix for quickness and convenience, which you’ll be thankful for since even a 15 minute wait under the noon sun can feel much longer. Sprinkle some calamansi on it and it brings out the familiar joy of Knorr seasoning. They also add a generous dollop of sweet mayo on the side so that you can opt to make your sisig creamy if that’s your thing (no judgement; we love all kinds of sisig!).

Bea Osmeña is a healthy-ish eater who is just as likely to take you to a vegan joint as she is to consume a whole cheese pie to herself. A former picky eater, Bea has discovered the joys of savory fruit dishes, but still refuses to accept pineapples on her pizza. On the rare occasion you catch her without food in her mouth, you are likely to find her looking at books she can't afford, hugging trees, or talking to strange animals on the street.
