SPAM musubi sounds and looks terribly intimidating, doesn’t it? When you see that neatly wrapped Hawaiian parcel, you’d never think you could make it at home. In reality, this recipe comes together so easily, especially if you have your can handy to form the musubi in!

Spicy SPAM Musubi

Now that you know how simple it is to make at home, you can deviate from plain old flavors, and add spice and heat to this extremely snackable bite. Add kimchi to the rice, and make a decadent, spicy sriracha mayo to make it even better.

By adding sriracha (or any hot sauce like gochujang) to your Lady’s Choice Real Mayonnaise, you get a velvety dip that you can layer in between the rice and SPAM, and have extra on the side for dipping.

  6. Set aside to cool slightly.
  7. To make the spicy mayo, combine Lady’s Choice Real Mayonnaise and hot sauce.
  8. To assemble, take a clean, empty SPAM can and line with plastic wrap.
  9. Add about a sixth of the kimchi rice to the bottom.
  10. Spread a spoonful of spicy mayo on top of the rice.
  11. Add a slice of SPAM on top and press down firmly.
  12. Remove the musubi from the can and peel off the plastic.
