Shake Shack Finally Opens on May 10April 30, 2019
Guys, it’s no longer an April Fool’s joke: Shake Shack is opening on May 10. The fast casual chain that can do no wrong is this year’s most talked-about import, and for good reason—they’re known for consistency and quality around their 200 branches worldwide. Started by folks with backgrounds in fine dining restaurants, Shake Shack became known for creating comfort food that focused on quality, but was still incredibly approachable.
After years of speculation, they’ve finally landed here in Manila, in partnership with SSI. They promise that nothing will change in terms of taste, except for their signature Concretes, which will be in collaboration with Filipino purveyors, and some all-new Manila Exclusives, with ingredients found only here. There’s a seriously thick milkshake with ube, and a limeade with the distinct zest of calamansi in it, but the concretes are what you really should look out for. One’s got Bucky’s brownies in it (which we’ll pretend we predicted), while another introduces Wildflour’s calamansi pie. These will definitely become part of our regular orders, alongside their ridiculously famous Shack Stack. See you early on May 10 when their doors open to the public; we’ll definitely be in line.
