Get to Try “The Cereal Killer” (Our Cookie Collab with Scout’s Honor) for Free If You Guess Our Birthday Correctly

March 27, 2015

Our senior editor couldn’t have said it better when she said, “Oh my god, based on this cookie, it’ll be obvious that we’re all girls in the team!” And she is right, to some extent. Because of what we do for a living, a lot of people would expect us to answer some fanciful, well-plated, flambéed exotic fruit with maybe a dash of truffle honey and a sprinkling of gold dust to be our top choice of dessert, but at the end of the day, we are absolute suckers for anything sickeningly sweet and alluding to something gooey, mushy, and (to put it bluntly) something we could squish with our hands. Anything involving ‘cake batter’, ‘cookie dough’ ‘pudding’, or ‘birthday cake’ immediately sends drool dripping down our chins, and ‘I promise to not eat dessert’ vows are immediately broken.

And because of this ‘birthday cake/cake batter/cookie dough’ obsession, we thought of collaborating with our very creative chef friend, Miko Aspiras, of Scout’s Honor, to satiate this obsession of ours make this indulgent dessert a reality: The Cereal Killer, a birthday cake cookie sandwich made with chewy vanilla cookie dough, swirled with rainbow sprinkles and rainbow nonpareils, and topped off with Honey Stars and Fruit Loops. Sandwiched in between both cookies is a filling made with sweet and tangy American lemon buttercream, and served with an edible faux candle. They come in 3-inch sizes for PHP 150 a cookie, but Chef Miko was smart enough to come out with a 6-inch cookie (in case you’re celebrating a birthday at Hole in the Wall) that comes with a sparkly candle for PHP 440.

To help wash it down, Chef Miko also came up with a Ritz Lemon Milkshake that’s made of pure butterscotch ice cream and cow’s milk with loads of crushed Ritz lemon cookie sandwiches, and topped off with a dollop of whipped cream, a scoop of salted caramel ice cream, and a slice of lemon. You can purchase it individually for (PHP 260) or with The Cereal Killer for (PHP 410).

If you don’t fall into a sugar high with this sinful duo, we don’t know what else could do the trick for you. Oh, we forgot the best part! You get to try it for free if you play our little game.

How to Win a Cereal Killer

  1. To get a free Cereal Killer, you will have to mention a numerical code to the cashier at Scout’s Honor, located at Hole in the Wall at Century City Mall. The numerical code is the answer to this question: When is the birthday of Pepper.ph?
  2. If you think that our birthday is on March 26, 2015 (032615), the numerical code you will say to the cashier is: “Zero-Three-Two-Six-One-Five”
  3. Scout’s Honor will be giving away 10 Cereal Killers everyday from March 28 to April 5, 2015, on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please take note that Hole in the Wall will be closed from April 2-3 for Holy Week.
  4. PS: We’ve disabled the ‘Comments Box’ for fair play.
