With the abundance of teahouses and the like omnipresent along every street in Binondo, the search for something delicious can be intimidating for anyone. For dim sum fans, Ying Ying’s affordability and prime location should make it high on your checklist. Their menu may seem endless, but if you stay away from the roasts, you’ll find that almost everything at Ying Ying is pretty darn tasty.
Their spinach soup for example, is a study in subtlety; it is almost fluorescent-green, but retains the earthiness of the vegetable without it tasting like a savory version of a blended green shake. There are two types of oyster cake on the menu: make sure to get the Taiwanese version that uses rice flour for an incredibly unique texture that is a cross between an omelette and mochi. But don’t forget the dim sum, all of which are a bargain for their serving size.
