When craving hotpot and Cantonese food, casual restaurant, Mala Tang comes to mind. At 11AM especially on weekends, you can often expect a line outside the restaurant for lunch even if it hasn’t opened yet. The interior has this casual, yet clean and orderly atmosphere. The servers are also friendly and will help walk you through the menu if you can’t make up your mind on what roasted meats to get.
The roasted duck is perhaps the more stellar choice. One bit and you’re met with this tender and flavorful duck meat with just the right amount of fat and crispy skin. To cut the richness, try it with the ginger-scallion sauce for some brightness. Other meats include roast pork, soya chicken, and char siu. The hot pot on the other hand is affordable and comes with a variety of toppings, noodles, and a broth of choice (Malatang, Sate, and Plain).
