The vinyl bar boasts a library wall of music which set the tone for an evening over drinks. A roster of standard cocktails concocted by head bartender Jonathan Po makes the casually dubbed ’78’ a place to visit for those who want to shy away from the 6-ingredient, smoked, roasted and toasted cocktails and stick to the old-reliables done just right. Don’t expect food at this bar—the owner specifically does not serve it so you can fully immerse yourself in the jazz while enjoying your drink.
As tempting as it is, don’t touch the collection of vinyls behind the bar that line the wall—those 10,000 plus vinyls are the personal collection of the owner and took a year to organize—but do sit back, order some buttery truffled popcorn and pick your poison. We undoubtedly like In A Silent Way, the bar’s only signature cocktail named as an ode to Miles Davis.
