We Give Wildflour’s Talked-About Kimchi Rice a Try in Today’s Pepper Eats

December 5, 2018

Pepper Eats is our weekly photo-journal featuring food we stuffed our faces with.

Cookie Doughn’t You Want Some from Cold Stone Creamery (PHP 198)

Addi

Addi says: “The fella had me at ‘cookie dough’. The graham-crusted cone was its perfect partner, adding a slight bitterness to the super sweet and gooey (yes, gooey!) ice cream.”

Rating: 10/10

Blueberry Cream Cheese Liège Waffle from Caffé Bene (PHP 165)

Adee

Adee says: “The best waffles I’ve ever had. It’s really small though. And it might be a tad too sweet for some people. Still, I’d have it every week if I was a cafe loving type of guy.”

Rating: 9/10

Cookie Overload Cookie from Cupcakes by Sonja (PHP 85)

Kat

Kat says: “The pretzels were stale, the cookie dough was bland, the marshmallows were un-caramelized gobs. Cookies usually make me happy-giddy, but this was the exception to the rule.”

Rating: 3/10

Garides Mi Feta Spaghetti from Cyma (PHP 800, to share)

Lars

Lars says: “The shrimp was fantastic, the pasta itself was a little too mild for me but that was quickly remedied with a few drops from their free chili oil.”

Rating: 8/10

Kimchi Fried Rice with Braised Short Rib and Poached Egg from Wildflour Café + Bakery Podium (PHP 465)

Mikka

Mikka says: “This dish could shut me up in an instant.”

Rating: 9/10

Spareribs with OK Sauce from King Bee (PHP 450 for the medium size)

Pork Spareribs in OK Sauce

Nico says: “The ribs were slightly crisp on the outside, while the inside was still tender. As advertised, though, the sauce was just okay. I’m guessing they made their own version of the real OK sauce brand.”

Rating: 6.6/10

Glazed Memphis Baby from Rack’s (PHP 675)

Serna

Serna says: “The meat was tender, but it could have been seasoned a little better. It’s definitely for sharing, but it’s not exactly something you order on a first date (unless you never want to see your date again).”

Rating: 8/10
