Minions Dominate in Today’s Pepper Eats

November 7, 2018

Pepper Eats is our weekly photo-journal featuring food we stuffed our faces with.

Mango Bravo from Conti’s (PHP 145)

Addi says: I feel really bad for people who are allergic to mangoes.

Diner’s rating: 10/10

Large Shio Char Siu Ramen from Hokkaido Ramen Santouka (PHP 440)

Adee says: “I ignored my body’s silent plea to stop eating the lovely but fatty broth. I felt a bit dizzy afterwards, but it’s totally worth it.”

Diner’s rating: 9/10

Dwight’s Tenderloin Set from Saboten (PHP 395)

Dwight's Tenderloin Set

Dwight says: “It’s hard to talk Saboten without mentioning Yabu, so I’ll say it—I like Saboten more than Yabu. I’m not sure if it’s because they serve better katsu or I just found it pleasant that I wasn’t eating it inside a mall. The meat was pillowy soft (but lacked a little flavor that the sauce made up for) that I find it hard to believe that this was fried straight out.”

Diner’s rating: 8.5/10

Camarones Enchilada from Oralé (PHP 385)

Giselle says: “For such a big plate, it was wholly underwhelming.”

Diner’s rating: 6/10

Croque Madame from Wildflour (PHP 420)

Kat says: “Perfectly cooked egg, delicious bread, gooey cheese and high quality ham. I’m deducting points for the price, though, but two people could share it, if they plan to have any of Wildflour’s pastries afterward.”

Diner’s rating: 7.5/10

McDo Value Meal (2 regular cokes, 5 Chicken Nuggets, 1 Burger McDo, and a Double Sundae for PHP 222.00)

Lars says: “I just wanted the minions.”

Diner’s rating: 9/10 for the minions

Beef Heart Tostada w/ Achiote Mustard from Manly Eats (PHP 140)

Mikka says: “After watching Anthony Bourdain eat dozens of beef heart slices in a Parts Unknown episode, I was more excited to try it out. Unfortunately, I wasn’t super sold on them as I expected to be. They taste like a cross between liver and normal beef slices. ”

Diner’s rating: 6/10

Glazed Chicken on Rice from Pho Hoa (PHP 215)

Mye's Glazed Chicken on Rice

Mye says: “This dish was nothing too special though I still come back for it every now and then. It’s basically like chicken teriyaki on a bed of fried rice which makes for good comfort food.”

Diner’s rating: 8/10

Tocino Breakfast Meal at Pan de Amerikana (PHP 65)

Nico says: “A decent enough meal for the price, and the enjoyment of the decor inside. But it didn’t make up for the mosquitoes constantly biting you.”

Diner’s rating: 6.8/10

My very own PMS Burger from The Burger Project (PHP 230)

Serna says: “I loaded up the patty with garlic cream cheese, lettuce, sauteed mixed mushrooms, caramelized onions, teriyaki sauce, and wasabi mayo. The burger patty had a good thickness and was perfectly cooked (like the sauteed mushrooms), but the onions didn’t have that soft texture and sweet flavor that caramelized ones should have. I could barely taste the wasabi mayo and the garlic cream cheese was too salty, but the whole burger did make for a hefty enough meal.”

Diner’s rating: 7/10

  6. Valerie Ann Marbella Soriente says:

haha! There is already a shortage on minions in McDonald’s 😛

  7. Lars Roxas says:

PROTIP: marami pang minions dun sa mga mcdo na nakatayo sa less conyo locations (ung mga branches na malabnaw ang sundae). Kakabili ko lang kanina ng mga kulang ko na minion sa ganung branch at kumpleto pa daw sila.

  8. Doublet says:

Whoa a Double Sundae? Is that available in all McDo branches? How does that work?

    • Lars Roxas says:

yep. it’s been a thing for awhile now. They basically fill the extra tall sundae cup up halfway then add the syrup of your choice, put more sundae in tapos syrup ulit. Pwedeng different flavors or the same or none at all. 🙂

  9. […] hence that horrible feeling we get after chowing down on all those Happy Meal burgers (although those minion thingies that come with them are too cute to pass […]
