November 1, 2018

Pepper Eats is our weekly photo-journal featuring the food we stuffed in our mouths.

Mixed Meat Gyro from Cyma (PHP 200)

Addi

Addi says: “Tender pork and beef, crunchy fresh tomatoes and white onions, addictive, tart tzatziki–all of this wrapped in warm, chewy pita then slathered with spicy tomato sauce… *Wipes saliva off the keyboard*”

Diner’s Rating: 9/10

Spicy Beef with Tendon Noodle from Mien-San Noodle House (PHP 228)

Adee

Adee says: “Not bad at all, I just wish it was a bit spicier. Thankfully, they have a good chili paste that I used to bump its score a notch.”

Diner’s Rating: 7.5/10

Pistachio Pavlova from Lola, Sct. Lozano (PHP 90)

Diana

Diana says: “The crisp and chewy meringue is the perfect backdrop for the subtle nutty flavor of the pastry crème and the ripe mango. Surprisingly a very light and fresh dessert.”

Diner’s Rating: 9/10

Lemon Cake Meringue from Kuppa (PHP 115)

Giselle

Giselle says: “Two things I love, lemon and meringue, in the perfect marriage of zesty and sweet.”

Diner’s Rating: 7.5/10

Croissant Donut by Wildflour (PHP 120)

Kat

Kat says: “Worth a try? Yes. But is it worth waking up at 6am and lining up for two hours like they do for the original one in NYC ? No (and please Manila, don’t let it come to that). The chocolate topping is really, really, really good, though.”

Diner’s Rating: 6/10

Strawberry Cheesecake Pancakes from IHOP (PHP 254.56 before VAT)

Lars

Lars says: “I fail to see what all the fuss was about.”

Diner’s Rating: 6/10

Nico

Nico says: “The picture I took is now my phone’s wallpaper. It helps me think of better days. Days spent with my face buried in a bowl of ramen.”

Diner’s Rating: 8.8/10

Pajon from Korea Garden (PHP 290)
