Here’s What You Can Do with Your Party Leftovers

With the slew of Christmas and New Years’ get-togethers and dinners coming to an end, you might find yourself in some post-holiday blues together with a fridge full of leftovers from the past week’s parties. Now, instead of reheating and eating your feelings away, why not try and breathe new life on your party leftovers. Today on Pepper we bring you recipes that will turn last night’s meal, dessert, and even pulutan, into breakfast, lunch, or maybe, your next offering to the potluck party gods.

1. Ensaymada Lamb Burger Sliders


This one is perfect for all you folks who have leftover hamon and queso de bola from Noche Buena. You can build these sliders to be more filling with the addition of lamb patties or fancy it up by turning the buns into Black Pepper Ensaymadas.

2. Chicken Adobo Tacos


This recipe takes a new spin on what you can do with leftover chicken adobo. Grab some taco shells, marinate the meat in sinamak, add in tomatoes, herbs, and red eggs, and you’ve got yourself a Filipino-inspired taco. Heck, you can even serve this at your next little get-together.

3. Sisig Mushroom Cream Pasta


Got some leftover sisig from last night’s drinking festivities? Why not turn pulutan into lunch with our easy Sisig Mushroom Cream Pasta. We usually enjoy our sisig with extra rice, but how about some pasta lovin’ for a little change in carbs? It is the new year after all.

4. Lazy Paella


This one is a no-frills meal perfect if you’re cleaning out leftover ingredients and leftovers from your pantry and fridge for the New Year. Apart from some required ingredients you can basically add in anything you want; maybe some fish, chicken, or bacon? Experiment with this one, just make sure the ingredients haven’t gone stale yet!

5. Steak Flake Pasta


It’s never a good idea to reheat steak. What once was a glorious medium rare slab will probably end up too rubbery and dry to eat. We recommend reinventing it into Steak Flake Pasta. Prepare the meat a la adobo flakes and make sauce out of the fat for an added indulgence factor.
