Nicto’s is a Go-To Third-Wave Café in the Kapitolyo Area that Serves Holiday in a Cup, Year-Round

March 25, 2019

Charina Nicolas-Ramento tells us that Nicto’s (a portmanteau of her and her husband’s last names) is a dream that was 10 years in the making for this coffee lover. The minimalist space that features hanging planters and monochrome seats was designed by their eldest daughter that Ramento describes as, “clean, simple, and accommodating.” A place, they hope, that feels like home once you enter.

Have it hot or cold, depending on the season… uh, the literal one.

Another such feeling that Ramento tells us she wanted to evoke was that of the holiday spirit, in the form of their hazelnut-y, toffee-sweet Holiday Cup, a drink that they offer all year round. The drink is offered hot, ideal for the rainy months, or cold for our country’s dry season. But whatever the weather, a sip of this will have you hearing jingle bells.

Bea Osmeña SEE AUTHOR Bea Osmeña

Bea Osmeña is a healthy-ish eater who is just as likely to take you to a vegan joint as she is to consume a whole cheese pie to herself. A former picky eater, Bea has discovered the joys of savory fruit dishes, but still refuses to accept pineapples on her pizza. On the rare occasion you catch her without food in her mouth, you are likely to find her looking at books she can't afford, hugging trees, or talking to strange animals on the street.
