Milkbox in Alabang Gives You Some Sugar

January 16, 2016

Nowie and Odette Potenciano have permeated the over-saturated Boracay food scene and made their mark in under two years. Their ventures Spice Bird, Sunny Side Cafe, and Supermagic Burgers have hit the sweet spot between trendy and delicious, and any of the concepts could easily thrive in Manila. Good for those south of Manila then, as the couple have opened dessert shop Milkbox. Hidden in the ground floor of Alabang Town Center, it embraces desserts by way of Buzzfeed and turns them into reality. Over-the-top milkshakes called Cwazy Shakes, waffles topped with gigantic scoops of ice cream and bathed in sweet milk, and Wonut (waffle doughnut) creations form the menu of the establishment.

Ultimately putting the “hip” in hipster, it’s their pumpkin spice ice cream—made specially for them by FIC—that makes for the most decadent combinations. Strong pumpkin flavors run throughout each scoop, with spices that are reminiscent of an American autumn. In its eponymous shake, it is surrounded by waffle slices, swathes of Chantilly cream, and crumbs of cereal. A welcome addition to the neighborhood indeed.
