Local Streetwear Brand SYF Creates T-Shirts That Pay Homage to Iconic Food Faves

December 28, 2018

Ralph Cruz, together with his brother, launched SYF (which stands for Support Your Friends) last February 2016, after playing around with several other brand names and logos. The name was almost an accident, with it just being a phrase that Cruz’s brother printed on a cap, but it resonated with their friends who all wanted to carry the “support your friends” sentiment, and SYF stuck.

Always hungry.

Why we’re writing about streetwear on our food website is their latest collection, which pays homage to some of our Filipino food faves, including PureFoods corned beef, Potato Corner, and Lil’ Orbits. And we got an exclusive preview at their next drop: any Hen Lin fans out there?

We luh dat logo tho.

That, and just a few months ago, SYF partnered with Craftpoint Brewery to create their Dominate IPA: a refreshing libation that reflects their taste in all things daring, clean, and refined.

Bea Osmeña SEE AUTHOR Bea Osmeña

Bea Osmeña is a healthy-ish eater who is just as likely to take you to a vegan joint as she is to consume a whole cheese pie to herself. A former picky eater, Bea has discovered the joys of savory fruit dishes, but still refuses to accept pineapples on her pizza. On the rare occasion you catch her without food in her mouth, you are likely to find her looking at books she can't afford, hugging trees, or talking to strange animals on the street.
