Celebrity stylist Liz Uy can be expected to surprise us with her versatility, but who of us would guess that that would ever lead to baking? But if you knew Uy before she became known as one of Manila’s It Girls, you may know that she studied HRIM in De La Salle College of St. Benilde Manila, and has enjoyed baking since she was a child.
In 2016, Uy returned to the professional kitchen by taking extra courses, and this was there the story of Mood Bake started. Called Mood Bake because she would really only bake when she was in the mood for it, Uy has recently found herself in a baking mood frenzy, with this perfectly packaged brand as its output.
The cookies are best enjoyed warm, and the chunky large beasts are filled with generous servings of chocolate. Fresh out of the oven, the chocolate is melted to an oozing consistency that complements the buttery cookie that has a bit of a soft, heavy cake-y texture. A cookie is heavy enough that a single one can suffice as a filling dessert. Pair it with some coffee for a decadent merienda.
