Kitkat Pecson Makes Food Maps and MoreJuly 27, 2018

Here’s a surefire recipe for a date disaster (especially while driving with a rampaging belly):
“So, wanna try out that ramen place near the area, or how about that breakfast place—oh wait I’m getting lost—I heard about this burger place… Ah screw it, let’s just get McDonald’s.”
In a city that is dotted with restaurants and cafés, one might find himself in a stressful jam just by choosing a place to eat. I’m talking about the city of Kapitolyo where restos have been mushrooming from every corner. Thank the food heavens for the talent of Kitkat Pecson who just made the life of many Filipino food lovers (mine included) easier, with this food map she created for the looloo app.
Aside from this, Kitkat also designed this Kitchen Kodigo for Chefs & Bakers that lends a helpful hand to precise cooks. Divided into various categories, this measurement guide has everything you need in one go.
Now let’s put a face behind the name. Kitkat Pecson is one of today’s budding young illustrators. Referring to herself as a color enthusiast, Kitkat’s a household name in the design industry, having worked in respected firms such as DM9 and BBDO Guerrero. She’s employed as a designer at Plus63. She’s also a big Photoshop user, but she’s currently experimenting with watercolor. One day, she hopes to become an eloquent storyteller.
Aside from soaking her brain in art-related stuff, Kitkat loves to travel, read sci-fi and high fantasy novels, and write. Cheese pizza tops the list of her ultimate comfort food. “I grew up in Chicago so when I feel nostalgic, I get a deep-dish cheese pizza,” Kitkat says. She also loves Cibo and their Penne Al Telefono (which we hacked!) and their Spinach Dip.
After reading this, you might want to spend the next hour or two checking out more of her whimsical artwork over at KitkatPecson.com, which is home to an enchanting assortment of neat stuff such as icons, her blog, and illustrating tutorials. You’ll be hypnotized with so much color, you’ll see unicorns.
