Cap Off The Week With A Glass of Harry Potter’s Firewhiskey

November 25, 2016

As a Potter fan, I’ve been waiting for this week for awhile. 3 years, 2 months, and 10 days—but really, who’s counting? (Okay, I am.) Now that Fantastic Beasts has debuted in cinemas, I’ve been thinking about the original series. Honestly, I still dream about the fare J.K. Rowling described in the original series. When I read the books, I imagined the grand affairs in Hogwarts and the treats from Hogsmeade. Among the fictional fare Butterbeer remains popular with fans, inspiring many attempts at recreating it. But I think Firewhiskey is a worthy alternative.

We made a drink that based on how we imagine Firewhiskey tastes like: a spirit that boosts the drinker’s courage and causes a burning sensation in the series. To recreate it, we use a combination of whiskey, cinnamon schnapps, and rum. Blended together, these three will surely trace a path down your throat and lend some bravado after a few glasses. After all, they don’t call it liquid courage for nothing.
