Raise a Glass of Green Mango Iced Tea to Welcome Mango Season

Here’s some good news: it’s mango season! And we’re all ready to use the fruit in everything we make; salads, desserts, drinks—you name it. But while there’s so much to celebrate about its ripe, golden state, let’s not forget that green mangoes are just as delicious.

Mango lang ng go!

And they’re just as versatile too. That’s right, they’re not just for dipping into bagoong. See here, we’ve made an iced tea from it; and we’ve gotta say: it’s damn refreshing—great for this insane summer heat.

“But what makes it tea?” Secret.

This green mango iced tea can be done in 10 minutes (or even less, actually). But you have to let it steep for a few hours (overnight is best) before serving, so we suggest you make it in the morning so you have it ready by merienda time. Oh, and it goes without saying, serve this with loads of ice.

Green Mango Iced Tea

  • Serves: 4 people
  • Active time: 10 mins
  • Total time: 10 mins + overnight
  • Difficulty: Easy

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 green mango, sliced
  • 1 liter water
  • 3 tbsp honey

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Peel green mango, and slice into medium-sized pieces.
  2. Put green mango pieces into a one-liter pitcher, and fill with water.
  3. Stir in honey.
  4. Let steep in the fridge overnight (or at least 3 hours) before serving.​
