Gourmanok Offers a (Kinda) Guilt-Free Version of Chicken Skin in Four Flavors

It’s a known fact that the skin is the best part of the chicken. It’s so good that it’s even sold by itself as (actually, not so-)common street food. But with high levels of fat content and cholesterol, it’s not really the healthiest thing to eat. Enter Gourmanok, a line of chicken skin that contains little to no back fat which means it’s healthier (than most chicken skin, that is). And it’s crispier, too!

Gourmanok began in 2016, amidst the boom of salted egg chips. Partners Sander Santos and Paula Santos decided to bring the popular flavor to chicken skin. They sold the stuff online and joined bazaars, but it was their stint on CNN’s The Final Pitch that really kick-started their business.

Why choose one when you can get all four?

They have four flavors: Original, Salt & Vinegar, Spicy Sea Salt, and Salted Egg. Choose your player, then munch on them as is or, as Sander and Paula suggest, make them into Chicken Skin Nachos—yes, they become the chips. (You can also whip up some Chicken Skin Tacos for a full-blown Chicken Skin Mexican feast.) They’re also great alternatives to chicharon, so go ahead and top it on some sisig.
