Ghetto Grub: Gab’s Good Grub

October 2, 2016

In these days where almost everything seems to spew negative sentiments, Gab’s Good Grub was a refreshing discovery. In a little corner just a short distance from the Pepper office, owner Bernard Samonte is doing some great things to uplift his community in any way he can. This is both a restaurant and a home in ways, where Samonte has adopted former drug addicts, those with less than a high school education, among others, and given them a second chance.

The food is just as important, incredibly satisfactory stuff at carinderia-like prices, and far from the fare typical of these tiny spots. There are burgers whose patties Samonte makes in house, sauces and salsas made from scratch, and Western rice meals such as chicken parmigiana and seafood ysabella, whose value for money you’ll be hard pressed to find anywhere else. See this all in our new video series, Ghetto Grub.
