Pepper Exclusive: First Look at the New Magnum Pleasure Store’s Full MenuMay 10, 2019
Next tuesday, April 8, Manila’s first Magnum Pleasure Store will open at SM Aura’s Sky Park dining area on the 5th floor. They also held a press event last week to mark the coming occasion. Predictably, all those other blogs and outlets will no doubt inundate your feed with posts filled with nothing but photos of the shindig and all the ice cream they got to eat for free.
Instead of adding to that glut of similar content, we thought of giving you guys something more special. With the dessert menu created by Raffles’ and Fairmont’s very own Head Pastry Chef Miko Aspiras and hot food menu constructed by Nomama’s Chef Him Uy de Baron, here’s an exclusive first look at the Magnum Pleasure Store’s Full Menu.
Pepper’s Mylene Chung took all the photos for the Magnum Pleasure Store menu.
So how did we get our hands on these beautiful photos in the first place? Simple, Pepper’s very own Director of Photography, Mylene Chung, took all the pictures that will be used in the Philippine’s first ever Magnum Pleasure Store. Cool, right?
While the final photos are clearly beautiful and are of the same high quality that Mye is known for, she shares that doing this project was actually one of her more challenging shoots. Instead of getting to use natural light as she usually prefers, she instead had to make the most of the artificial studio lighting. She also deviated from her usual prop styling aesthetic, sticking to a more minimalist approach with cleaner backgrounds for this occasion. Still, Mye is glad that the whole experience allowed her the opportunity to explore new styles and techniques in her photography.
The store’s main attraction is clearly the plethora of customized creations and options you can order to embellish or improve the already delicious Magnum Ice Cream Bar. These photos are just a few examples of the many possible variations guests can opt for to personalize their ice cream eating experience.
The Magnum Pleasure Store also serves savory dishes.
Perhaps the biggest surprise in this exclusive peek into the Magnum Pleasure Store’s offerings is the sheer amount of savory dishes they have available. From the intriguing Cocoa Rubbed Chicken to that downright sexy Croque Madame at the bottom, they have a host of dishes most people would never expect from what’s ostensibly an ice cream cafe. Now that people have seen them, though. I’m sure many can’t wait for the opportunity to try them out as soon as the store opens next week.
