Estero Fast Food is an Iconic Binondo Spot for Its Novel Location and Affordable Food

October 6, 2018

Estero Fast Food, located right after the Ongpin bridge along Ongpin street, is a little hard to find—if you weren’t looking carefully enough, you just might miss it. Duck into a small opening and walk down a few steps, and you’ll soon find yourself in one of the most unusual restaurant set-ups: an open karinderya right by the estero.

Legs for days?

Not for the queasy, Estero Fast Food is one of the most popular Binondo destinations for its novel location and affordably priced food. The most highly recommended dish is their deep-fried frog legs—and this spot is one of the most accessible ways to try the meat. That is, if you can find it.

Bea Osmeña is a healthy-ish eater who is just as likely to take you to a vegan joint as she is to consume a whole cheese pie to herself. A former picky eater, Bea has discovered the joys of savory fruit dishes, but still refuses to accept pineapples on her pizza. On the rare occasion you catch her without food in her mouth, you are likely to find her looking at books she can't afford, hugging trees, or talking to strange animals on the street.
