Denmark’s Cocio Chocolate Milk has Landed!September 16, 2015

Ah, chocolate milk. Even in our twenty-somethings, a sip of the beverage triggers memories of sandbox afternoons, when all was really fair in love and war, and when nap time was considered the most boring hour of the day. We’d always carry a carton box in our snap-on plastic lunch boxes, with our meals meticulously curated by our mothers. And while age has warped our perception of the world, chocolate milk stays the same—a golden treat. I’ve still been crossing fingers for the day I see Kowloon Dairy snuggled cozily in Manila’s convenience store shelves, but in the meantime, enter Denmark’s chocolate milk—Cocio, which comes in Classic and Dark variants.
I’m a sucker for dark chocolate, and true enough, it was the Dark chocolate that took the cake. It’s easy on the sweetness, yet extremely luscious. The Classic one might cater more to the youngsters, and to tell you the truth, there wasn’t much of a difference between Cocio’s Classic chocolate milk and your regular grocery variant, but I’d give it props for the packaging. At PHP 73 a bottle (I got these at Family Mart), it may come a bit pricey for convenience store chocolate milk, but still, give it a go. The technique to drinking this is to invert the bottle, so all that good stuff that sinks to the bottom mixes with the fatty milk. Give it a shake, pop the cap off, chug heartily, and unabashedly. Maybe go for another bottle. But if you only had to choose one, I say, stick to the Dark.
