This Drink Might Just Be the Next Health Craze

August 25, 2015

With a plethora of health fads sprouting every season, you’re forced to consider two things before giving into one: Is it actually good for my body? And Is the potential crappy taste worth the benefits? One budding trend comes in the form of a seven day challenge and goes by the name Booch, a spinoff of the company’s main product, Kombucha tea.

Kombucha is a fermented tea that contains probiotics which are said to improve digestion, assist in metabolism and weight loss, and cleanse and detoxify. While vegetable juices taste exactly as you’d expect them to taste (earthy like a sad salad, but in liquid form), this tea comes off as a tangy soda. Because of its process of fermentation, the drink comes off naturally carbonated. For the cola-dependents out there hoping to cut back on the sugar, Kombucha works as the closest alternative to fight the soda addiction.

Booch Manila has a variety of flavors including calamansi tarragon, chai spice, and cherry vanilla. They recommend their customers try their Booch for seven days before breakfast and dinner, which can be done through a special seven-day package with 14 bottles of an assortment of flavors.

Which organic/healthy trend do you think will be the next big thing? Is there something else out there you’d like us to try? Tell us below!

Sabina is a university student in Tokyo and a beach bum in Manila. She has a particular fondness for dusk, cute videos of puppies, and raving about things she enjoys. While she can tolerate most things, bell peppers and loud sounds make her irrationally angry. Her hobbies include getting excited when restaurants have avocados and/or seasoned raw meats (ie. ceviche, poke, kinilaw, yukhoe), Skype-ing, and complaining about the weather.
