13 Ubay St. Comfort Dining Brings It Home with Their Lolo Joe’s Artisanal Bacon

May 8, 2019

Amidst Banawe’s cluster of Chinese restaurants, 13 Ubay St. Comfort Dining focuses on Filipino favorites. It’s set in Chef Zaza Sarmiento’s ancestral home; and the menu pays homage to its past by including food you’d typically see during family gatherings.

Breakfast pizza? YES PLEASE.

We recommend their Lolo Joe’s artisanal bacon, which you can have on its own or as part of several other dishes. Named after Chef Zaza’s grandfather, the thinly sliced pieces of pork are cured and smoke in-house, then deep-fried before serving. Despite being deliciously sinful, it’s MSG-free and has no chemical preservatives. That’s what we call balanced eating.
