‘Titas of Manila’ by Carmen’s Best is the Dessert You’ll Want to Share after Dinner at Powerplant Mall

December 26, 2018

Titas of Manila was aptly named after the majority of Powerplant Mall’s clientele: the sossy ladies who lunch of Makati City. And it doesn’t surprise us that this fanciful dessert is a bestseller there, despite a combination of flavors that is not exactly common in the Philippines: orange caramel syrup, cheese ice cream, dried figs, almond brittle, and whipped cream.

It may sound intimidating, but all those flavors meld together in something that is surprising and addictive. And why those flavors, you wonder? Think of what you see on a cheeseboard when you’re enjoying pica-pica at your sossiest tita‘s house. Exactly.

Bea Osmeña SEE AUTHOR Bea Osmeña

Bea Osmeña is a healthy-ish eater who is just as likely to take you to a vegan joint as she is to consume a whole cheese pie to herself. A former picky eater, Bea has discovered the joys of savory fruit dishes, but still refuses to accept pineapples on her pizza. On the rare occasion you catch her without food in her mouth, you are likely to find her looking at books she can't afford, hugging trees, or talking to strange animals on the street.
