Food Hack: Mr. Kabab’s Garlic Sauce

November 20, 2012

I know nada about kebabs, but I do know this: I love Mr. Kabab and their legendary garlic sauce. I confess to pouring the stuff all over my favorite Eggplant Keema until it turns into a garlic sauce lake.

This hack is the answer to every Mr. Kabab fan’s prayer. I can’t think of a catchier name for it, but you know the effect this has on kebab patrons: it’s a miracle. This garlic sauce can be quite versatile, going beyond its original purpose and breaking boundaries. Use it on steaks, lamb, just about anything. Yes, it’s quite a marvelous invention, I must say. And today, the recipe is yours to exhaust for your gluttonous pleasure.

Happy eating!

    • Mikka Wee says:

Around 90-92%. A friend of mine said his garlic sauce came with red flecks, some branches probably add paprika to it or something.

Good job on the recipe but its rather fancy. Back when they were literally some hole in the wall eatery, I used to see them whip up a batch of the stuff. The key ingredient is evap. Add the garlic and other seasonings but no whip cream and no sour cream. If you want an authentic Middle Eastern flavor then skip the creams and go with plain yogurt.

Agree. My wife did a super job with store bought yogurt. Next time she’ll try it with her own yogurt. I don’t quite understand the use of the word hack. Here’s a much simpler copycat recipe: yogurt, garlic, salt and lemon juice.

There is a restaurant near me that makes and sells this stuff and it is almost fat free. So you could probably use a ff sour cream or ff plain yogurt.
